92 kg ganja seized at ORR toll gate in Sangareddy; three held

Hyderabad: Police in Sangareddy district seized 92 kg of ganja after intercepting vehicles at the Mutthangi Outer Ring Road toll gate.

As part of routine checks, police stopped a Hyundai car and a DCM vehicle at the Mutthangi ORR toll plaza in Patancheru limits. During the inspection, officers recovered large quantities of ganja hidden inside the vehicles.

Police said the accused were transporting the contraband from Odisha to Solapur in Maharashtra. Acting on suspicion, officers detained the occupants and verified the consignment.

Police took three persons into custody in connection with the case.

Police identified the arrested persons as Sachin Gangaram, Mahesh, and Vijay, all residents of Solapur. Investigators said the trio actively participated in transporting ganja across state borders.

Apart from the contraband, police recovered ₹11,000 in cash from the accused. Officers also seized the Hyundai car, the DCM vehicle, and five mobile phones used for coordination.

Police have now shifted focus to the larger network behind the ganja supply. They said the investigation would continue to identify suppliers and other links in the trafficking chain.
