2BHK colony shop auction to begin for 1400 units from April 9

Hyderabad: 2BHK colony shop auction for more than 1,400 units will begin from April 9 across Hyderabad and neighbouring districts, officials said, launching the sale process under the CURE initiative.

District collectors of Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy issued notifications to auction shops across 36 housing colonies. In the first phase, authorities will auction 273 shops in eight colonies in Ranga Reddy district on April 9 and 10.

The shops range from 60 to 400 square feet and are located within the colonies to support local business activity. These units aim to meet the daily needs of residents while improving access to essential services.

Housing Corporation Managing Director V.P. Gautham said authorities will sell the properties on an “as is, where is” basis. He added that officials fixed upset prices below market rates to attract wider participation.

2BHK colony shop auction to cover multiple districts

Interested bidders can inspect the shops in advance. They must register at the respective RDO offices before 11 am on auction days by submitting the required Earnest Money Deposit. Officials advised applicants to contact Housing Project Directors in their districts for further details.

Authorities said the government will use revenue from the 2BHK colony shop auction exclusively for maintenance and development of the same housing colonies. They plan to form Resident Welfare Associations under the Cooperative Societies Act to manage these funds through a dedicated corpus.

These associations will oversee upkeep of infrastructure such as lighting, elevators and water systems. Officials said this model aims to ensure long-term sustainability of the housing facilities.

According to the schedule, Hyderabad district will auction 77 shops in 10 colonies on April 15 and 16. Medchal-Malkajgiri will auction 892 shops in 12 colonies on April 15 and 17. Sangareddy will conduct auctions for 372 shops in six colonies between April 15 and 18, and again on April 21.

Officials added that the 2BHK colony shop auction will also create employment opportunities and strengthen local economies within the residential clusters.
