101-kg ganja seized in Cyberabad, two peddlers arrested

Hyderabad: Kollur police and the Special Operations Team of Serilingampally Zone seized 101.711 kilograms of ganja worth Rs 25.72 lakh and arrested two alleged peddlers near Tellapur in Cyberabad.

The 101-kg ganja seized operation followed specific intelligence inputs. Based on credible information, Kollur police and the SOT team moved swiftly and intercepted two men near Tellapur.

Police identified the accused as Baswa Jaganatham, 37, a farmer from Vizianagaram district, and Pallapu Laxminarayana, 52, from Puttaparthi district. Both men hail from Andhra Pradesh. Besides the contraband, officers recovered four mobile phones from them.

Investigators said the 101-kg ganja seized stock was meant for sale to labourers at construction sites. The duo allegedly approached workers staying at labour camps near Shilpa Venture in Tellapur. According to officers, a supplier delivered the consignment nearly 10 days earlier. However, police teams tracked the movement of the accused and intercepted them before they could distribute the stock.

Police identified the main supplier as Raju from Odisha. He remains absconding. Meanwhile, special teams intensified efforts to trace and arrest him.

101-kg ganja seized during targeted crackdown

Inspector Ganesh Patel of Kollur Police Station led the 101-kg ganja seized operation. SOT Serilingampally personnel assisted him during the raid. DCP Shobhan Kumar and ACP Ramana Goud supervised the coordinated crackdown.

Senior officers praised the team for swift action and close coordination. They also announced rewards to encourage further anti-narcotics enforcement.
