Warangal super speciality hospital to begin OP services on October 20

Hyderabad: The Warangal super speciality hospital will begin outpatient (OP) services on October 20, coinciding with Dasara, Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy announced. The facility will open on a soft-launch basis. Meanwhile, the government has set December 15 as the target for completing the hospital. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will formally inaugurate it, according to the minister.

On Thursday, Ponguleti reviewed the soft-launch arrangements with officials and public representatives. Panchayat Raj Minister Danasari Seethakka attended the meeting. Chief Minister’s adviser and Rajya Sabha member Vem Narender Reddy also participated. In addition, MLAs Nayini Rajender Reddy, K.R. Nagaraju and Revoor Prakash Reddy joined the review. MLC Basavaraj Saraiah, Porika Balaram Naik, KUDA chairperson Gundu Sudharani and library chairperson Aziz Khan were also present.

After the meeting, Ponguleti told the media that the existing MGM Hospital had served people across several erstwhile districts for decades. He said the new Warangal super speciality hospital would continue that service. In particular, it would provide better-quality medical treatment to people across the region.

Warangal super speciality hospital targets December completion

Ponguleti said the state government was giving priority to education and healthcare. He added that the administration was completing projects left unfinished by the previous government. Despite financial constraints, he said, the government was pursuing those works with commitment rather than leaving them on paper.

The minister reiterated that officials would work to complete the new MGM hospital by December 15. After that, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would inaugurate the facility. The October 20 soft launch will therefore mark the start of outpatient services ahead of the planned completion date.

Ponguleti also claimed that the hospital would deliver medical care at a level that could put private hospitals in the erstwhile districts under pressure. He said the facility would provide quality treatment on a scale that could affect their operations. For now, the government’s immediate target is to start OP services on October 20 and complete the hospital by December 15.
