Vikas Raj sets March 2026 deadline for TIMS Alwal works

Hyderabad: Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj on Monday set a firm deadline of March 2026 for the completion of construction works at the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) Hospital in Alwal.

He issued the directions during a field inspection conducted on the instructions of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. During the visit, Vikas Raj reviewed the progress with R&B engineers and representatives of the executing agency. He instructed officials to speed up works while ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.

Emphasising government priorities, Vikas Raj said TIMS hospitals remained a key focus area. He stated that the Alwal facility was coming up over a built-up area of 12,14,060 square feet. The State government had sanctioned ₹1,196 crore for the project. He also noted that the Chief Minister and the R&B Minister were closely monitoring the progress on a regular basis.

TIMS Alwal works cross 70 percent physical progress

According to officials, workers have completed all structural works at the TIMS Alwal site. Meanwhile, nearly 95 per cent of brickwork and plastering has been finished. Mechanical, electrical and plumbing works have reached about 60 per cent completion. In addition, flooring and painting works have progressed to nearly 50 per cent. As a result, the project has achieved around 70 per cent overall physical progress.

To meet the deadline, Vikas Raj instructed the contractor to complete the remaining works within the approved timeline. He asked department officials to ensure the hospital was ready for inauguration by March 2026. Additionally, he directed the R&B department to coordinate closely with Health Department officials. This, he said, would help ensure timely installation of medical equipment and operational readiness.

Going forward, Vikas Raj said officials would continue regular field inspections. Therefore, he urged all stakeholders to remain alert and work in close coordination to meet the government’s deadline.

Chief Engineers Rajeswar Reddy and Linga Reddy, along with senior R&B officials, field engineers and representatives of DEC Infrastructure Projects, were present during the inspection.
