Hyderabad: Vanasthalipuram car accident left two engineering students dead after a speeding car rammed into their motorcycle near Hastinapuram under Vanasthalipuram police station limits on Wednesday, police said.
The victims were identified as K. Shiva (19) and Sandeep Joel (19), both second-year ECE students of Mahaveer Engineering College. According to police, the two were riding a bike when a Honda City car approached from behind at high speed and hit them.
The impact of the Vanasthalipuram car accident was severe. The car then struck a pedestrian, identified as Sridhar (23), before losing control. It flipped multiple times on the road and finally came to rest in an overturned position.
Both students died in the accident, police said. Meanwhile, the injured pedestrian was shifted to a private hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.

Police said the car driver had been arrested. They added that he was suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
