Vakiti denies involvement in BJP candidate suicide

Hyderabad: Fisheries Minister Vakiti Srihari on Thursday denied any involvement in the BJP candidate suicide in Makthal Municipality and said he was ready to face action if allegations against him were proven.

Addressing the media, Vakiti Srihari rejected claims linking him to the death of BJP candidate Mahadevappa. He stated that he had never spoken to Mahadevappa and urged authorities to verify his call records if required.

“I never called Mahadevappa. If necessary, check the call data. The real reasons will be revealed only after the postmortem report. The family members have expressed the opinion that he died due to fear of elections. The law will take its course in this matter,” the Minister said.

He maintained that the truth behind the BJP candidate’s suicide would emerge only after the postmortem findings. Moreover, he said that speculation should be avoided until the investigation concludes.
