Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao met AP CM Chandrababu Naidu in Vijayawada, requesting a memorial and district renaming in honour of former CM Damodaram Sanjivayya.
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao in Vijayawada. The meeting focused on honoring Damodaram Sanjivayya, the first Dalit Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh, known for his integrity and leadership.
During the discussion, V. Hanumantha Rao urged the Chief Minister to establish a memorial park in Sanjivayya’s name as a tribute to his contributions. Additionally, he proposed that one of the districts in Andhra Pradesh be named after Damodaram Sanjivayya.
Following the meeting, V. Hanumantha Rao stated that Chandrababu Naidu responded positively to the suggestions. The proposal is expected to be reviewed further by the Andhra Pradesh government.
