Hyderabad: Unemployed youth staged a fresh protest in Telangana on Wednesday, demanding immediate release of the job calendar. They sat on the road near Dilsukhnagar metro station in Hyderabad, holding placards and banners that read “We want justice.”
Protest at Dilsukhnagar causes traffic disruption
The agitation led to a heavy traffic jam around the metro station. Police rushed to the spot and tried to disperse the protestors. Officials said full details of the incident were awaited.
The protestors displayed flex banners carrying photos of Ashok, president of the Unemployed Rights Forum, who has been on a hunger strike for the past ten days demanding jobs for the unemployed.
Political leaders extend support
Earlier, BRS MLA and former minister Jagadish Reddy met Ashok during his hunger strike and extended support. Protestors said the government must act quickly to address unemployment and provide opportunities for the youth.
