₹1,250 crore underground drainage project announced for Khammam

Hyderabad: Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao on Wednesday announced a ₹1,250 crore underground drainage project for Khammam to resolve the city’s long-standing civic and sanitation issues.

He laid the foundation stone for CC roads and side drains worth ₹545.60 lakh in Khammam’s 21st division. He said the drainage system will be built with support from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and funding from the Central government.

Tummala added that the state is also executing a ₹250 crore drinking water scheme to ensure continuous supply for residents. He said the government is following a planned approach to enhance basic infrastructure and civic amenities.

The minister called on citizens to actively support city upkeep. He stressed that public participation is crucial to keeping Khammam clean and green.

Mayor Punukollu Neeraja, Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Agastya, RDO Narasimha Rao, Deputy Mayor Fatima Johara, corporators, and other public officials attended the event.
