Hyderabad: A delegation led by Telangana Urdu Working Journalists Federation (TUWJF) President M.A. Majid has demanded the inclusion of Urdu in the Telangana Media Academy’s name and logo. The group met with Academy Chairman K. Sreenivas Reddy on Wednesday, pressing for official recognition of Urdu within the institution’s identity.
The delegation also called for structured training programmes tailored to Urdu-language journalists. Reddy is said to have assured support for the proposals.
Questioned about the status of the Government Order on revised media accreditation rules, the Chairman said the file remains with the state government.
The delegation included General Secretary Syed Ghouse Mohiuddin, Vice President Syed Shah Azmath, Joint Secretaries Mohd Layeeq and Syed Wajid Hussaini, and Mohd Aleemuddin.
