HYDERABAD: In a recent press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Media Committee Chairman Sama Rammohan Reddy challenged Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders to swear on Lord Ram regarding their claims about welfare schemes. He questioned whether the BJP-led Union Government had issued any ration cards or waived loans for farmers in Telangana over the past decade. Reddy criticized the central government for allegedly attempting to dominate the state without providing financial assistance. He accused the eight BJP Members of Parliament from Telangana of acting as subordinates to Gujarat, neglecting the state’s rights.
Reddy also criticized BJP leaders for demanding that welfare schemes funded by the state government be named after Prime Minister Modi. He questioned the central government’s contribution to these schemes and challenged BJP leaders to swear on Lord Ram if they had indeed provided ration cards or waived loans for farmers. He further accused the BJP of failing to fulfill its manifesto promises since 2014 and criticized the party for allegedly taking credit for initiatives like the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR), which he claimed was brought to Telangana during the Congress regime.
Reddy also took a dig at BJP State President Bandi Sanjay, suggesting that instead of making baseless claims, he should fight for Telangana’s rights. He concluded by stating that the people of Telangana would decide whether to honor BJP leaders based on their actions.
