Hyderabad: TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud launched a sharp counterattack on former minister Harish Rao on Thursday, accusing the BRS leader of making baseless statements and misleading the public.
Speaking to the media, Goud said Harish Rao “grew six feet but failed to grow even half an inch of intellect.” He claimed Rao’s arguments lacked depth and coherence, and accused him of misrepresenting the details of the recent Delhi meeting after Union Minister CR Patil had already clarified its content.
Goud said even after Chief Minister Revanth Reddy publicly explained what was discussed, Harish Rao continued to push false narratives.
“Harish Rao is spewing nonsense with illogical arguments just to stay relevant. State interests mean nothing to him,” said Goud, adding that Revanth Reddy had directly challenged BRS chief and former CM KCR to participate in Assembly discussions or face him in a mock session at his farmhouse.
“When called out, they went silent. Now they shamelessly continue issuing challenges,” Goud said.
He also accused KCR of betraying Telangana’s interests by allowing Andhra-based irrigation projects to proceed unchecked, referencing statements about turning Rayalaseema into a ‘land of jewels’.
“If you have the courage, you and your father-in-law KCR should come to the Assembly and present your case,” he said.
“Don’t try to pluck feathers from an egg. People won’t buy these press meet theatrics,” Goud concluded.
