Three held in Hyderabad drug bust; brown sugar, ganja worth ₹23.5 lakh seized

Hyderabad: In a late-night operation near the IMAX open grounds, the Commissioner’s Task Force (Central Zone) and Saifabad Police arrested three men for drug trafficking. They seized narcotics worth approximately ₹23.5 lakh.

The accused were identified as Mohd. Gulam Jilani, Suleman Khan, and Feroz Bin Ali alias Sahil. Officers recovered 100 grams of brown sugar, 1.35 kg of dry ganja, seven mobile phones, and a motorcycle from their possession.

DCP Vaibhav Gaikwad Raghunath said Feroz and Suleman were sourcing brown sugar from Jilani at ₹5,000 per gram. They were selling it at up to ₹10,000 per gram. They admitted to selling drugs to a consumer. The consumer later died from an overdose. A case was already registered at Rajendranagar Police Station.

Jilani confessed to procuring the contraband from Odisha through a contact named Afsar. He reportedly bought 115 grams of brown sugar and 1.35 kg of ganja for ₹3.5 lakh and transported it to Hyderabad.

The accused, along with the seized narcotics, were handed over to Saifabad Police for further investigation.
