Hyderabad: Labour and Employment Minister Dr. G Vivek Venkatswamy on Monday said Telangana plans to send at least 20,000 youth abroad for jobs through TOMCOM in the next year. He made the announcement at the Telangana Rising Global Summit during a session on ‘Talent Mobility’.
The Minister said TOMCOM will now play a key role in helping Telangana youth build international careers. He described global employment as an extension of livelihood support.
“Whether in India or abroad, a job secures a family’s future. When some youth take up jobs abroad, it frees up more local opportunities,” he said.
Cultural preparation essential for global success
The Minister stressed the importance of soft skills, foreign language training, and cultural awareness. Many youth, he noted, travel overseas without adequate preparation. Training in these areas will boost their performance and build trust among families.
“When our youth succeed globally, parents feel more confident. As a result, more young people step forward,” he said.

Dr. Vivek said TOMCOM will focus on training rural and district-level candidates. He highlighted rising job demand in countries like Japan and Germany. Although language trainers are in short supply, partners are using modern methods to close the gap.
ATCs to train 2 lakh youth annually for global careers
He linked the overseas job drive to Telangana’s $3 trillion economic vision for 2047. As part of this plan, the state is setting up 115 Advanced Technology Centres (ATCs). These centres will train two lakh youth every year in industry-ready skills.
To support this initiative, the government has hired 540 specialised trainers. The Minister also urged the CII and state departments to align training with changing industry needs.
“With focused training, global exposure, and strong partnerships, Telangana youth will be ready to succeed anywhere in the world,” he concluded.
