Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Tuesday released ₹277 crore to gram panchayats across the state. This financial assistance provided a Sankranti boost to Telangana gram panchayat funds and rural local bodies. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka announced the disbursal during a high-level review meeting at Praja Bhavan.
Vikramarka extended Sankranti greetings and congratulated the newly elected sarpanches and ward members. He said the timely transfer of Telangana gram panchayat funds demonstrated the state’s commitment to empowering grassroots governance.
Finance department executes immediate disbursal
Led by Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, officials from the finance department promptly released the ₹277 crore allocation. The gram panchayats aim to support development projects during the festive season and improve rural infrastructure.
The meeting also reaffirmed the government’s backing of local bodies and encouraged optimal use of funds for village-level needs. The state intends to continue releasing funds as per schedule to ensure uninterrupted rural development.
