Telangana to unveil Next Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–30 at Davos

Hyderabad: Telangana will unveil its Next Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026–2030 at the World Economic Forum in Davos. This move will position the state as a global leader in healthcare and pharmaceutical innovation. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will present the policy. He will be joined by Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and international industry leaders.

The new policy aims to shift Telangana’s life sciences sector from scale-based growth to a model anchored in innovation, value creation, and global integration. Moreover, it consolidates the state’s established manufacturing base. It also accelerates its emergence as a frontier hub for research and development.

Green Pharma City to anchor Telangana’s global ambitions

As part of the announcement, Telangana will launch a strategic roadmap for developing Green Pharma City, a next-generation industrial cluster near Hyderabad’s international airport. Integrated into the Bharat Future City project, the facility will offer connectivity to key industrial corridors. These corridors include the state’s emerging AI Hub.

Designed with zero liquid discharge systems, centralised waste management, and energy-efficient technologies, Green Pharma City follows a “Work, Live, Learn, and Play” model. This model supports sustainable and innovation-driven manufacturing.

Telangana contributes 40% of India’s pharmaceutical production and is home to over 250 USFDA-approved facilities. It produces one-third of the world’s vaccines. Additionally, it hosts operations of global pharmaceutical giants such as Novartis, Eli Lilly, Sanofi, Amgen, and BMS. Hyderabad alone houses more than 2,000 life sciences companies. The sector is valued at $80 billion.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision includes building a $250 billion life sciences economy by 2030. Furthermore, the Telangana Global Life Sciences platform will serve as the flagship initiative to connect global investors, researchers, and policymakers. It will drive collaboration and accelerate innovation across sectors.
