Telangana municipal elections reaffirm Congress dominance

Hyderabad: The Telangana municipal elections concluded with the Congress securing over 70 per cent of the seats across the State, reaffirming public confidence in its governance, Labour and Mines Minister Dr. G Vivek Venkatswamy said on Friday. He stated that the outcome reflected the people’s continued trust in the administration’s welfare and development agenda.

According to him, the Telangana municipal elections results aligned with the party’s expectations. He said the mandate demonstrated citizens’ faith in transparent and accountable governance. Furthermore, he described the verdict as a reaffirmation of the Congress government’s direction in the State.

The Minister said welfare and development remained the core pillars of the Indian National Congress administration. Therefore, he added, the scale of victory strengthened the party’s resolve to sustain the same policy approach in the coming months. He also noted that the government would continue prioritising people-centric initiatives.

Dr. Venkatswamy congratulated all winning candidates in the Telangana municipal elections. He urged them to serve the public with sincerity, dedication and compassion. At the same time, he expressed gratitude to voters across the State for supporting Congress nominees.

He also thanked the people of Chennur for ensuring the party’s victory in that segment. Their support, he said, contributed significantly to the broader success recorded in the Telangana municipal elections.

Telangana municipal elections consolidate party position

The Minister stated that the municipal results had further consolidated the Congress Party’s position across Telangana. He said the outcome strengthened the organisation at the grassroots level. Moreover, he described the verdict as a clear endorsement of the government’s performance.

However, he acknowledged that the party did not secure the desired results in a few municipalities. In those areas, he said, the leadership would carefully examine the reasons for the setback. He added that the party would identify gaps and take corrective measures.

According to him, the review process would focus on improving outreach and strengthening organisational structures. Consequently, he said, the party aimed to deliver better performance in future elections. He maintained that the leadership remained committed to continuous assessment and course correction where necessary.

Dr. Venkatswamy reiterated that the Congress government’s commitment to welfare and development remained unwavering. He emphasised that the Telangana municipal elections had reinforced the administration’s responsibility to meet public expectations. In conclusion, he said the party would carry forward the momentum generated by the results into forthcoming electoral contests.
