Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi appointed Maripalli Madhavi as its new Telangana Jagruthi president with immediate effect. Founder Kalvakuntla Kavitha issued the appointment order on Monday and announced the organisational change.
Kavitha said Telangana Jagruthi had worked for the past two decades to promote Telangana’s cultural renaissance and protect the State’s identity and self-respect.
She recalled that the organisation was established in 2006, when the movement for a separate Telangana was gaining momentum. According to Kavitha, Telangana Jagruthi aimed to showcase the region’s cultural heritage and historical legacy to a wider audience.

Kavitha said the organisation played a key role in taking the Bathukamma festival beyond Telangana villages and promoting it globally. She also said Telangana Jagruthi encouraged large-scale participation of women in the Telangana statehood movement through Bathukamma celebrations.
After serving as the organisation’s founding president for nearly two decades, Kavitha will now continue as the Founder Chairperson.
Meanwhile, the appointment of Maripalli Madhavi as Telangana Jagruthi president took immediate effect. Kavitha expressed confidence that the organisation would continue to advance its objectives under Madhavi’s leadership.
