Telangana Jagruthi to chart independent political course, says Kavitha

Hyderabad: Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha on Wednesday announced that the organisation would contest the upcoming Assembly elections as an independent political force, marking a key shift in its role in state politics.

Jagruthi forms 32 expert panels to draft political roadmap

As part of the Jagruthi Janam Bata outreach initiative, Kavitha interacted with people across the state. Citizens and activists reportedly expressed the need for Telangana to have an autonomous political identity. Responding to these inputs, she stated that a political course aligned with public aspirations would soon be unveiled.

The decision came during the Telangana Jagruthi state extended executive committee meeting. Members resolved to adopt a democratic and inclusive planning model, anchored by expert inputs.

To this end, Jagruthi has set up 32 expert committees to study key sectors such as education, health, employment, agriculture, social justice, irrigation, and revenue reforms. Each panel comprises three to four members and includes mandatory representation of educated women leaders.

One committee will focus on evaluating a decade of Telangana State’s progress. Another, formed with legal experts, will study political party constitutions to help frame a democratic constitution for Telangana Jagruthi.

These committees have been tasked with conducting statewide assessments over the next ten days. They will submit their reports by January 17 to the steering committee led by working president L. Roop Singh. Based on the findings, the executive body will finalise the organisation’s political and organisational strategy.
