The JAC criticised earlier governments for neglecting government junior colleges. It said only 380 colleges existed at the time of State formation and that fewer than 60,000 students studied in them. It added that earlier orders for free education for SC, ST and BC students received poor funding.
The JAC said recent decisions under Revanth Reddy had revived intermediate education. It cited the recruitment of nearly 1,300 teachers through TGPSC and welcomed monthly maintenance grants for colleges.
The State sanctioned ₹56.16 crore for repairs and infrastructure across 326 government junior colleges. Colleges also received funds for laptop upgrades and sports equipment.
The JAC praised improvements in monitoring systems, including CCTV cameras and digital attendance. It welcomed new online services for leave and medical reimbursement.
It also noted exam-related reforms. These include QR codes on hall tickets, map-based directions to centres, changes in printing and better revaluation procedures. The group said it expected the reform process to continue.
