Telangana govt committed to welfare, development: Bhatti in Mahabubabad

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday inaugurated multiple development works worth nearly ₹100 crore in Mahabubabad constituency and addressed a large public meeting at Somala Tanda.

He accused the previous BRS government of wasting public funds under the pretext of the Kaleshwaram project, alleging that despite spending lakhs of crores, water did not reach even 10 acres. “They continue to peddle lies to mask the failure,” he said.

Bhatti reiterated the Congress government’s readiness for a legislative debate on Krishna and Godavari river water issues and challenged BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao to participate in the Assembly instead of avoiding discussion.

Highlighting Congress’s achievements, he said Telangana’s electricity demand rose by 2,000 MW compared to the previous government’s peak of 17,162 MW, yet uninterrupted 24×7 free power continues for farmers.

On welfare, Bhatti said ₹70,000 crore was spent in one year, with ₹9,000 crore credited to farmers’ accounts in nine days under Rythu Bharosa, and ₹21,000 crore of farm loans waived within three months.

The government, he said, had released ₹21,000 crore in interest-free loans to DWCRA women as part of its mission to economically empower one crore women. He also detailed ₹12,600 crore allocated under the ‘Nallamala Declaration’ for Girijan welfare, including free solar pumps and sapling distribution for podu lands.

Bhatti cited ₹200 crore being spent on each constituency to build modern schools to international standards and announced ₹12,000 annual aid under ‘Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa’ for landless poor. A ₹500 MSP bonus was also declared for paddy procurement.

He said the TRS (now BRS) was resorting to false propaganda but people were firmly backing the Congress-led Praja government.

Ministers Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Tummala Nageswara Rao, Seethakka, Konda Surekha, advisor Vem Narender Reddy, and local MPs, MLAs, and officials participated in the event.
