Hyderabad: Telangana is charting a structured roadmap to achieve global logistics hub status by 2047, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Thursday.
Addressing the Transport Logistic India 2026 conference organised by Messe München India at the Jio World Convention Centre, the Minister outlined a long-term strategy to build a future-ready logistics ecosystem. He said the sector would anchor the State’s development vision under the Telangana Rising 2047 framework.
Sridhar Babu stated that Telangana aimed to increase its contribution to India’s GDP from about 5% to 10% by 2047. He added that the government aligned this target with its broader ambition of building a $3-trillion economy. Moreover, he said the State was factoring in global supply-chain realignment, artificial intelligence-driven logistics and sustainability shifts while planning reforms.
He asserted that Telangana would leverage its strategic geographic location to enhance competitiveness. The government, he said, would expand infrastructure and deepen digital integration to secure global logistics hub status.
Infrastructure push to secure global logistics hub status
The Minister listed several key initiatives to strengthen the logistics backbone. These include the Regional Ring Road, Metro Rail Phase-II, proposed airports and development of a dry port. In addition, the government plans to implement Telangana Logistics Policy 2.0 and establish dedicated logistics parks across the State.
Sridhar Babu also emphasised skill development. He said the government was partnering with Young India Skills University and industry stakeholders to create a trained workforce suited to emerging logistics needs.
Inviting investments in multi-modal logistics, rail-linked infrastructure, air cargo and cold chains, the Minister called for participation in Grade-A warehousing and digital logistics platforms. He further encouraged investments in automation and green mobility solutions.
He assured investors that Telangana would provide faster approvals, transparent policies and an industry-friendly regulatory framework. Consequently, he expressed confidence that the State would move steadily towards global logistics hub status by 2047.
