Telangana govt issues orders for Gaddar Film Awards 2025

Hyderabad: The Telangana government issued official orders to conduct the Gaddar Film Awards for 2025, State Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said on Monday.

The awards will honour films that received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification between January 1 and December 31, 2025. The minister said the government decided to expand the awards by introducing new categories along with the existing ones. He stated that the initiative reflected Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s commitment to strengthening the film industry in the State.

New categories and application schedule for Gaddar Film Awards

As part of the revised format, the government will introduce a new award for the Best Social Message Film to recognise movies that reflect social consciousness. In addition, the State will present the Dr C. Narayana Reddy Award under a special category, the minister announced.

Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said eligible producers and applicants could obtain application forms and detailed guidelines until January 31, 2026. He fixed February 3, 2026, as the final date for submission of entries. The minister urged producers to follow the prescribed guidelines and submit applications within the stipulated deadline.
