Hyderabad: TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud on Sunday said Telangana’s development under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is unmatched. No state could compete with the state if Future City advances as planned.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Mahesh Goud said people across Telangana are happy with the governance delivered by the Congress. “The Chief Minister has a clear vision. Hyderabad is progressing in every direction, and Congress welfare schemes are unparalleled anywhere in the country,” he stated. He added that the party is confident of retaining power in the next Assembly elections.
Mahesh Goud also dismissed the relevance of BRS, saying the party is in decline at the grassroots level. He criticised BRS leader K Kavitha for attacking the Congress despite facing legal action. He claimed her ambitions to become Chief Minister were unrealistic. “If BRS still had a future, why would Kavitha be trying to return to the political forefront?” he asked.
Congress stages Delhi protest against vote fraud, to meet President
Meanwhile, Congress leaders from Telangana and across India are participating in a protest at Ramlila Maidan. It is organised under AICC’s direction to highlight alleged “vote chori” and institutional misuse by the BJP. TPCC chief Goud said the BJP was turning autonomous bodies into party tools, including the Election Commission of India.
He alleged that over one crore votes were illegally merged in the recent Maharashtra elections. “This is a warning to the Centre. The BJP is trying to kill democracy,” he said. A delegation of senior Congress leaders is expected to meet President Droupadi Murmu after the rally to present their objections.
Mahesh Goud also criticised the BJP’s welfare record in its ruled states, saying people there received little more than 10 kilograms of coarse rice. He claimed Special Investment Region (SIR) policies were hurting the common public. Consequently, he said the BJP would not come to power in Telangana.
