IMD warns of sharp temperature drop as cold winds grip Telangana

Hyderabad: Cold wave conditions have intensified across Telangana, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a further drop in minimum temperatures over the next two days.

The Hyderabad Weather Centre said cold winds from the north and northeast, blowing at 6 to 8 kmph, will continue to lower night temperatures in many districts. Foggy mornings and partly cloudy skies are expected in several areas over the next 48 to 72 hours.

IMD warned that temperatures could fall to as low as 3–4°C in some parts of the state.

Northern Telangana remains the most affected. In Adilabad, temperatures dropped to 10°C on Thursday, significantly below the seasonal norm.

Authorities advised people to take precautions, especially those who are older or have health vulnerabilities. IMD urged residents in colder regions to remain alert and limit exposure during early mornings and late nights.
