Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Monday said the state is working to become the “Skill Capital of the Globe.” He made the statement while inaugurating the “Mega Job/Skill & Loan Mela” at PG Law College, Basheerbagh, along with Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary.
The event was jointly organised by the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, and the Telangana Department of Employment & Training.
Sridhar Babu urged the Union Minister to extend support for the Young India Skill University, a state government initiative aimed at providing industry-aligned skill education to youth. He said many youth in Telangana still lack the skills required by industries, and the state government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is working to bridge this gap through industry collaborations and updated curriculum.
According to the minister, nearly 80% of students trained under Skill University programs have secured employment. He encouraged the youth to adapt to evolving technologies and overcome setbacks while pursuing their careers.
Sridhar Babu invited Jayant Chaudhary to visit the Young India Skill University and said Telangana is ready to collaborate with the Centre to strengthen skill development across the country.
The event was also attended by MP R. Krishnayya, MLC Anji Reddy, TGMDCL Chairman Anil Kumar, former MLC Kapilavai Dilip Kumar, and other dignitaries.
