TBJP chief urges government to provide facilities to cable operators

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao urged the Congress government to provide alternative facilities to cable operators instead of cutting down existing cable networks. He cited Karnataka’s model of extending optic fiber connections with nominal rent, which he said supports operators and ensures uninterrupted services.

Ramchander Rao condemned the state government’s decision to indiscriminately cut cable wires in Hyderabad, particularly after the incident on Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Ramanthapur. He said the move has badly hit the livelihood of nearly 1.5 lakh cable operators and staff, while indirectly affecting lakhs of dependent families.

Ramchander Rao assures support to affected operators

The TBJP chief assured support to affected operators, stating that his party would stand by the Internet Service Providers Association and small-scale cable operators. He pledged full backing for the protest planned tomorrow at Indira Park, organised by the Telangana Internet Service Providers Association along with cable operators.

Earlier, representatives of the Association met Ramchander Rao at his Tarnaka residence and explained the hardships they faced due to the government’s unilateral action.
