Class 10 student dies under suspicious circumstances at Khammam ashram school

Hyderabad: A Class 10 student at a government tribal girls’ ashram high school in Khammam district died under suspicious circumstances on Monday evening, sparking protests from her family.

The deceased, Pratima, belonged to a tanda in Chotapalli panchayat of Kusumanchi mandal. She was studying at the Government Girijan Girls’ Ashram High School.

Collapsed During Exam, Declared Dead at Hospital

According to school sources, the student fainted while writing her FA-I Social Studies paper. Teachers rushed her to the Khammam District Government Hospital, where she died during treatment.

The exact cause of death is yet to be determined.

Family Protests Outside Hospital

Her parents and relatives staged a protest outside the hospital, demanding answers and accountability from school authorities.

Local police have registered a case and begun an investigation into the circumstances leading to her death.
