Sridhar Babu slams KCR’s ‘hype politics’, defends Telangana’s investment growth

Hyderabad: Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu on Monday accused former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of running a governance model based on hype. He asserted that the Congress-led government was delivering tangible results in industrial and economic growth.

Addressing media queries, Sridhar Babu defended the ₹5.75 lakh crore worth of investment commitments signed at the Telangana Rising Global Summit. He dismissed opposition allegations of inflated figures. “If CEOs of global corporations are visiting Telangana, signing MoUs, and praising our ecosystem, how is that fake?” he asked.

Congress hits back at KCR’s remarks on industry

Taking aim at KCR’s criticism, the minister said, “Listening to KCR talk about truth is like demons reciting the Vedas.” He claimed the BRS era discouraged investments by demanding approvals from a “gate-pass culture” allegedly controlled by KCR’s family.

“Investors now come to Telangana by destiny, not chance,” Sridhar Babu said, underscoring the state’s investor-friendly climate.

Bharat Future City and textile park defended

Countering claims that “Bharat Future City” is a real estate project, the minister described it as a planned integrated industrial ecosystem. He also highlighted the operationalisation of the Warangal Textile Park under the PM MITRA scheme. He credited the Congress government for completing the stalled project and securing ₹30 crore from the Centre.

Surge in IT exports and economic indicators

Sridhar Babu noted that IT exports had jumped from ₹2.43 lakh crore under BRS rule to ₹3.23 lakh crore in the past 18 months. He attributed this rise to enhanced infrastructure, investor trust, and policy clarity under the current administration.

Citing Reserve Bank of India data, he said Telangana now ranked first among large states in per-capita income at ₹3.87 lakh.

Push for top industrial status

The minister reaffirmed the government’s goal of making Telangana the top industrial destination globally. “We are not distracted by political noise. Our focus is on results,” he said.
