Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries Sridhar Babu on Friday criticised BRS legislators for boycotting the ongoing Telangana Assembly session. Sridhar Babu slams BRS, stating they had earlier claimed they would confront the government. However, they are now absent from key discussions.
He pointed out that BRS members had raised several questions during the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting. Yet, they failed to appear in the House when those matters were scheduled for debate.
Calling the absence of the main opposition inappropriate, Sridhar Babu said, “Important issues are being discussed. This is not the time for the opposition to vanish.”
He clarified that the government had organised a detailed presentation on Krishna river water sharing solely to inform the public with accurate facts. He questioned the legitimacy of raising objections outside the House instead of participating in the official proceedings.
The Minister also urged the Speaker to initiate action against BRS legislators for conduct that, he said, disrespected the dignity of the Chair.
