During the programme, Gupta highlighted the importance of integrity in public administration and institutional functioning. He said ethical conduct was essential for strengthening public confidence and supporting national development.
According to Gupta, probity involved more than preventing financial corruption. It also required employees and officials to discharge their responsibilities honestly and ethically. He stressed that accountability and responsible conduct were essential components of effective public service.
SCR stresses preventive vigilance and accountability
Addressing the gathering, Srivastava emphasised the importance of preventive vigilance in railway administration. He said organisations should concentrate on strengthening internal systems and preventing irregularities rather than relying solely on corrective measures.
Additionally, he called for greater transparency and accountability in day-to-day operations. Srivastava noted that South Central Railway handled millions of passengers and transported substantial volumes of freight.
Therefore, he said, transparent procedures and effective monitoring were particularly important for maintaining public trust. The General Manager also highlighted the need for employees to uphold ethical standards while performing their official duties.
