Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the phone tapping case has issued a fresh notice to BRS chief and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR), summoning him for questioning on February 1 at 3 PM at his Nandinagar residence.
SIT officers visited the Nandinagar house on Friday night to serve the notice regarding the phone tapping case. As no one was available at the premises, the team pasted the notice on the wall of the residence.
SIT notice to KCR follows rejection of farmhouse request
SIT officials later told the media that the only address on record is KCR’s Nandinagar residence. They clarified that his request to be questioned at his Erravelli farmhouse could not be accommodated due to the absence of a formal address and logistical constraints in shifting sensitive interrogation equipment for the phone tapping case.
The rejection of KCR’s request to be examined at his farmhouse has triggered political discussion across Telangana. Moreover, officials stated that procedural integrity required adherence to the listed official address for matters related to the phone tapping case.
Earlier, the SIT questioned BRS leaders T. Harish Rao, K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), and Santosh Rao in connection with the same case. Investigators are expected to file the final charge sheet following KCR’s questioning.
