Hyderabad: A nine-year-old Class 4 student died on Friday after falling from a staircase at a school in Shadnagar, Rangareddy district. The girl, identified as Varnika, suffered a serious head injury in the fall on Thursday.
The incident occurred at Indian Public School while Varnika was walking down the stairs. She suddenly lost her balance and fell from the staircase. The impact left her unconscious.
School staff immediately shifted Varnika to a hospital, where doctors began treatment. However, her condition remained critical, and she died while undergoing treatment on Friday.
The Shadnagar school accident was captured by a CCTV camera installed on the premises. The footage recorded the circumstances in which the student fell from the staircase.

Varnika’s death left her family devastated. The incident also cast a pall of gloom over the school.
