Hyderabad: Advisor to the Telangana Government Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Monday laid foundation stones for several development projects across Kamareddy town and welcomed local BJP and BRS leaders into the Congress party, citing growing public support for real, on-ground progress.
During visits to Wards 1, 6, and 13, Shabbir Ali launched civic works including CC roads, internal road upgrades, and new drainage systems. He directed officials to prioritise the completion of pending works, particularly in Adloor.
Shabbir Ali Kamareddy Congress push focuses on visible development
Addressing residents after the foundation events, Shabbir Ali said the Congress government was focused on tangible, inclusive development. He urged voters not to fall for divisive politics and to judge the government based on its delivery. “Our aim is to win the municipality through performance, not provocation,” he said.

Highlighting state-wide schemes, he pointed to road upgrades, drainage modernisation, Amma Model Schools, Indiramma housing, and the Mahalaxmi scheme offering free bus travel and subsidised gas cylinders for women. Farmers are also receiving support through Rythu Bharosa, which includes input subsidies and loan waivers.
“This is not a government of words but of action. Kamareddy will see real transformation,” he said.
BJP, BRS leaders switch sides in Kamareddy
In a major political shift, several local leaders from BJP and BRS formally joined Congress in Shabbir Ali’s presence. Leaders from Rajampet, Sarampalli, Tekrial, and Adloor resigned from their parties and were inducted with party stoles.
Shabbir Ali said the Congress development agenda is drawing leaders from rival camps. He assured the newcomers of key roles within the party and hinted at further defections in the coming days, energising local Congress cadres.
