Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj Minister D Seethakka launched a stinging attack on BRS working president K. Tarakarama Rao, accusing him of orchestrating a campaign of misinformation and demanding he be given an “international award” for it.
Speaking to reporters at the state Secretariat, Seethakka said KTR’s approach to opposition politics resembled a masterclass in deception, claiming he had outdone even historical propagandists. She charged that the BRS leadership had abandoned the role of constructive opposition and instead resorted to baseless accusations.
Turning to the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, Seethakka questioned why BRS leaders were afraid to face the commission probing corruption allegations. She noted that the structural failure of the project occurred under their rule and demanded clarity on their refusal to cooperate with the inquiry.
Seethakka also criticised KTR for his remarks on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, saying he lacked the stature or credibility to comment on a national leader. Addressing the mention of the Chief Minister in the National Herald case, she defended the government’s position, stating that aiding a publication with deep roots in India’s independence movement should not be viewed as misconduct.
