Seethakka participates in Pagididda Raju ritual, reviews Medaram Jathara arrangements

Hyderabad: Tribal Welfare Minister Seethakka participated in the Pagididda Raju ritual held at Poonugondla village in Gangaram mandal of Mahabubabad district and offered special prayers.

On the occasion, the minister extended greetings to the people of Telangana on the Medaram Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jathara. She described the event as the world’s largest tribal congregation. She also referred to it as the Telangana Kumbh Mela.

Moreover, Seethakka said the Medaram Jathara symbolised tribal self-respect and a long history of struggle. Therefore, she appealed to devotees to celebrate the festival with devotion and discipline. She also urged them to ensure peaceful conduct of the jathara.

At the same time, the minister said the state government had made unprecedented arrangements. She added that the jathara was expected to draw more than one crore devotees.

Seethakka reviews Medaram Jathara arrangements

Meanwhile, Seethakka said Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was closely monitoring the jathara arrangements. She noted that the Chief Minister continued to review preparations despite being on an official visit to the United States.

According to her, the Chief Minister held regular phone discussions with ministers and senior officials. Through these reviews, he directed all departments to work in close coordination to avoid inconvenience to devotees.

Further, the minister recalled that the government spent ₹250 crore on permanent development works. She said the works included expansion of the temple precinct and construction of spacious gaddelu for Sammakka–Saralamma, Govindaraju and Pagididda Raju.

In addition, Seethakka said the government gave priority to roads, drinking water, electricity, sanitation and medical services. These measures, she said, aimed to support lakhs of devotees arriving at Medaram.

She also urged pilgrims and vehicle users to strictly follow police instructions. At the same time, she asked devotees to maintain discipline during darshan.

Finally, the minister requested officials to take special care of elderly devotees, women and children. She said the government deployed about 13,000 police personnel for jathara security. She added that district Superintendent of Police Ramnath Kekan was supervising the arrangements.
