Ensure no drinking water shortage this summer, Seethakka tells officials

Hyderabad: Rural Water Supply Minister Seethakka on Tuesday instructed officials to prevent any drinking water shortage in Telangana during the upcoming summer. She said the state government has made uninterrupted water supply a top priority.

At a high-level review meeting held at the Mission Bhagiratha
office in Erramanzil, Seethakka warned that negligence in addressing water supply issues would invite strict action. ENC Krupakar Reddy and senior officials from the Rural Water Supply Department attended the meeting.

Plan early to avoid drinking water shortage

Seethakka urged officials to plan ahead to avoid last-minute crises. She directed immediate repairs to faulty pump sets and warned staff against encouraging unnecessary borewell drilling for personal gain.

“Any staff found promoting such practices will face disciplinary action,” she said. She also recommended stricter monitoring at the local level to ensure equitable water distribution across districts.
