Hyderabad: Minister Seethakka on Saturday mocked BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, claiming he had misunderstood the debate challenge issued by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. She clarified that the CM’s challenge was directed to former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition K. Chandrashekar Rao for a discussion on the floor of the Assembly, not to KTR.
Speaking to reporters, Seethakka argued that KCR, as the opposition leader, was responsible for defending his party’s policies in the legislature. She said KTR had no formal role to answer the challenge since it was meant for KCR.
She described the BRS as a “dead party” and ridiculed KTR’s leadership credibility, pointing to statements by his sister K. Kavitha in a recent interview suggesting she did not accept KTR as the party’s head.
Seethakka insisted the Congress was prepared to debate any issue with the opposition in the Assembly but would not entertain debates outside its democratic platform.
