Hyderabad: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Women and Child Welfare Seethakka on Friday handed over appointment letters to 23 newly selected Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) at the Secretariat.
The candidates were chosen through the Telangana State Public Service Commission. Addressing the appointees, Seethakka urged them to approach their roles with dedication, highlighting their central role in implementing child and maternal welfare programmes.
“This department runs on service and compassion. Your duty is to deliver government services effectively to children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers up to age six,” she said.
The Minister called on the CDPOs to prioritise malnutrition reduction among Anganwadi beneficiaries and ensure full utilisation of support schemes. “Anganwadi centres must become national models. Your field presence is as critical as your desk work,” she said.
Seethakka said the state is supplying 57 varieties of toys to Anganwadi centres, along with twice-weekly servings of egg biryani, regular milk and egg distributions, and uniforms for children. She instructed officers to resist political pressures and maintain autonomy in their work.
