Hyderabad: The Saras Rural Products Exhibition-cum-Sale at HMDA Grounds recorded more than 40,000 visitors and Rs.30 lakh in sales within four days. The exhibition, located beside the IMAX theatre, attracted crowds through products made by women’s self-help groups (SHGs).
The Saras fair features products from Telangana and several other states, offering visitors a range of traditional crafts and regional foods. Telangana handlooms, handicrafts, household items, pickles, snacks and millet-based products are among the key attractions.
Saras fair sales reflect growing demand for rural products
Organisers reported a steady increase in visitor numbers and sales since the exhibition opened. The response highlighted consumer interest in regional crafts and traditional food products brought together at one venue.
Artisans visiting from other states have also showcased specialised products at the fair. The exhibition highlights the entrepreneurial skills of rural women and the range of products developed by their self-help groups.
The event continues to provide an urban marketplace for rural producers to present their goods directly to consumers. Its early sales and visitor figures reflect the public response during the exhibition’s first four days.
