Sandhya 70mm Theatre stampede case chargesheet filed

Hyderabad: The Sandhya 70mm Theatre stampede case investigation has concluded, with Hyderabad Police filing a chargesheet before the court on December 24, Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar said on Saturday.

Police named 23 accused in the case, which relates to the stampede incident at Sandhya 70mm Theatre at RTC Cross Roads. Of them, officers arrested 14 accused, while nine others secured anticipatory bail and received notices as per procedure.

According to the chargesheet, the investigation found serious lapses in planning, crowd management, security arrangements, and coordination. Police said the failures involved theatre management, event organisers, private security staff, and others associated with the event.

Sandhya 70mm Theatre stampede probe cites multiple lapses

Among those chargesheeted were partners and management of Sandhya 70mm Theatre, including Agamati Ram Reddy, M. Sandeep, M. Sumeeth, Agamati Vinay Kumar, Agamati Ashutosh Reddy, and others connected with the theatre’s operations. Police also named theatre manager M. Nagaraju and gatekeeper Gandhakam Vijay Chander.

The chargesheet also included cine actor Allu Arjun, along with his managers Josya Bhatla Santosh Kumar and Sharat Bunny. In addition, police named fans association in-charge Tatipamula Vinay Kumar, event organiser Talla Kiran Kumar Goud, and several personal security guards and bouncers linked to the incident.

Police said further legal proceedings in the Sandhya 70mm Theatre stampede case would continue as per law. Officials reiterated that accountability would be fixed on all those whose negligence contributed to the incident.
