Hyderabad: The Telangana Congress Disability Wing celebrated Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s birthday on Saturday with the participation of differently abled citizens. The event took place in a festive atmosphere, honouring the Chief Minister as a true friend of the disabled community.
Speaking at the gathering, Telangana Disabled Welfare Corporation Chairman Muthineni Veeraiah said Revanth Reddy had introduced several welfare measures for the differently abled. He noted that the government provided 5% reservation in higher education and 4% in court jobs. It also ensured 5% reservation in Indiramma housing schemes.
Revanth Reddy praised for welfare of disabled citizens
Veeraiah added that the Chief Minister launched a ₹1 lakh incentive for marriages between two disabled persons. Moreover, he said those with over 40% disability received motorised tricycles to support mobility. The state also implemented the 2010, 2015, and 2020 PRC pay scales for staff in the Disabled Welfare Corporation.
According to Veeraiah, these reforms improved the lives of disabled employees and strengthened their financial security. He wished the Chief Minister a long and healthy life. Furthermore, he expressed hope that Revanth Reddy would continue leading Telangana with the same compassion.
Congress leaders participate in the celebrations
The event saw the presence of many Congress leaders. Greater Hyderabad Congress Disabled Wing President Deshgani Satish Goud, NPRD India National President Toodum Rajender, State President Mallikarjun, and Spinal Cord Association President Shafi attended the programme. Leaders Joku Swamy, Ravinder Reddy, and Ramalingaiah also took part in the celebrations.
