Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy highlighted the Telangana government’s sports development programmes during a meeting with representatives of Collective Newsroom, the sole publisher of BBC Indian Languages. He outlined the state’s incentives and support measures designed to help athletes compete successfully at national and international levels.
The Chief Minister met Rupa Jha, CEO of Collective Newsroom, and G.S. Rammohan, Editor of BBC News Telugu, at his office. During the meeting, the delegation presented him with a book based on the BBC Collective Newsroom survey titled Attitudes towards women’s sports, sportswomen and women in India.
The representatives also briefed the Chief Minister on the survey’s key findings and discussed issues related to women’s participation and public attitudes towards sports.

During the interaction, Revanth Reddy explained the Telangana government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the sporting ecosystem. He said the administration was implementing several initiatives and incentives to identify talent, encourage athletes, and provide the support needed to achieve success at the national and international levels.
The meeting also focused on the importance of promoting women’s sports and creating greater opportunities for sportspersons across the state.
