Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday met representatives of the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation at his residence in Jubilee Hills and assured government support for film workers.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said the state is working to raise Hyderabad to Hollywood standards. He cautioned that strikes cause losses to both producers and workers and should be avoided. “I stand with the workers, but at the same time, the state’s interests are also important. The government cannot remain silent if strikes are ongoing,” he said.
Health insurance and skill training for Telugu film workers
Revanth Reddy announced plans to extend health insurance to film industry workers. He said small-budget producers should receive more support to sustain the sector. He urged producers not to neglect workers and asked them to back skill development initiatives. Training for film workers, he added, would be provided at the Telangana Skill University.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed his commitment to balancing worker welfare with the state’s economic interests and called on the industry to strengthen cooperation between management and employees.
