During a high-level review meeting held at the Command Control Centre, he directed officials across departments to treat the international event as an opportunity to showcase Telangana’s stature and cultural richness to the world.

Revanth Reddy instructed the state machinery to ensure tight security, top-tier hospitality, and cultural vibrancy throughout the three-week event, which will host contestants from 116 countries and attract nearly 3,000 media personnel from India and abroad. Highlighting Hyderabad’s role as host city, the Chief Minister advised that no detail should be overlooked, from airport receptions steeped in local tradition to flawless logistics across event venues. Every programme, from the grand inaugural ceremony at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium on 10 May to the final gala on 31 May, must proceed without a hitch, he said.

To maintain round-the-clock vigilance, the police department has been directed to step up surveillance across the city, particularly in areas surrounding event venues and hotels hosting international guests. Security will also be intensified at major tourist spots that contestants are expected to visit, including Charminar, Laad Bazaar, Chowmahalla Palace, and the Telangana Thalli statue.

The Chief Minister instructed that nodal officers be assigned to each event, ensuring responsibility and accountability at every level. He emphasised the need for robust contingency plans to manage unforeseen circumstances such as traffic disruptions, power outages, or adverse weather conditions. Special attention was drawn to preparations for possible rains and strong winds, with GHMC and HYDRAA units placed on alert.

In a bid to extend the reach of the celebrations, the Chief Minister announced that students from government Gurukuls and welfare residential schools will be given the chance to witness the event. Additionally, the itinerary includes visits to local women’s self-help initiatives like the DWCRA Bazaar and an opportunity for contestants to attend an IPL semi-final match at Uppal Stadium.
