Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday told Telangana Congress leaders to brace for political challenges ahead, including delimitation, the implementation of women’s reservation, and the possible conduct of simultaneous (Local bodies) elections. He was speaking at the TPCC Political Affairs Committee meeting held at Gandhi Bhavan.
Revanth said these developments were likely in the near future and the party must be organisationally prepared at every level. He said only those active on the ground would be given positions, adding that workers who stood by the Congress during difficult times had already been recognised and would continue to be prioritised.
He directed leaders to set up booth, village, and mandal-level committees immediately and said those holding party roles must remain closely engaged with the public. “Positions will go only to those who deliver results in the field,” he said. 18 months of Congress rule is the Golden period, take this message to every doorstep, he added.
Revanth said the party machinery should be mobilised early for the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll and warned against complacency. He confirmed that nominated posts in temple and market committees would be filled soon.
He said the party and government would function in full coordination and that public welfare would remain the central objective. Revanth called on leaders to move forward with clear targets and said he was willing to visit villages if required.
