Hyderabad: A rare Taita owl was spotted in Somaram village of Vaira mandal in Khammam district. The sighting drew the attention of local residents after the bird appeared near a house.
The owl was found near the residence of Avula Praveen in the village. Locals became curious after noticing the unusual bird in the area.
The Taita owl spotted in the village was unable to fly because of an injury to its wing. Residents then informed Forest Department officials about the injured bird.
Forest officers soon reached the location and examined the owl. They identified it as a Taita species after inspecting the bird.
Meanwhile, officials said they would provide treatment for the injured owl. After recovery, they planned to release it in a safe area.
The incident attracted attention among residents because of the owl’s rarity. The Forest Department’s intervention ensured that the injured bird would receive care before its release.
