Ramchander Rao accuses Rahul Gandhi of backing alleged regime change efforts

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Friday accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of aligning with forces allegedly seeking to bring about regime change in India through unrest and violence. He compared the alleged efforts with developments in Bangladesh.

Addressing the media at the BJP state office, Rao questioned Congress’s silence over remarks allegedly made by lawyer Prashant Bhushan, All India Students Association (AISA) president Neha Bora and Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) leader Abhijeet Dipke. He asked the Congress leadership to clarify its position on the regime change allegations.

Rao alleged that certain individuals were attempting to create unrest and anarchy with foreign funding. He warned that citizens were watching such activities. He also accused these individuals of displaying the national flag while allegedly pursuing actions that could trigger riots.

Regime change allegations focus on democratic institutions

Rao further alleged that Rahul Gandhi and groups he described as “Urban Naxals” and the “Tukde-Tukde gang” were attempting to weaken democratic institutions. He specifically referred to the judiciary and the Election Commission of India.

The BJP leader argued that political power should come through elections. He questioned whether Congress supported efforts to change the government through unrest rather than the electoral process.

Rao demanded that Congress publicly state its position on the remarks attributed to Bhushan, Bora and Dipke. He warned that the party’s continued silence could draw public criticism.
