Delhi, January 29: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp attack on former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a rally in Bawana on Wednesday. He alleged that Kejriwal’s government was corrupt and compared his speeches to Modi’s, claiming both leaders mislead the public.
Rahul Gandhi reminded the audience of Kejriwal’s five-year-old promise to bathe in and drink Yamuna’s water, questioning why the Chief Minister had not fulfilled it. He stated that Delhi residents were forced to consume polluted water while Kejriwal lived in a luxurious residence, often referred to as the “Sheesh Mahal.” This was the second consecutive day that Gandhi brought up the issue of Kejriwal’s official residence.
He further accused both Modi and Kejriwal of being against reservations for Dalits, backward classes, minorities, and the poor. He challenged Kejriwal to publicly commit to conducting a caste census and removing the 50% cap on reservations but claimed that he would not do so due to his alleged bias against marginalised communities.
Raising questions about Kejriwal’s role during the Delhi riots, Rahul Gandhi asked whether the Chief Minister had stood with the affected people. His remarks came as part of the Congress’s broader campaign targeting both the AAP and BJP ahead of upcoming elections.
दलितों के ख़िलाफ़ हैं… pic.twitter.com/7h7ZvKfkY4
